Creating a concept map on the topic of the role of digital media in
our lives was an exciting and challenging task. The goal of the map
was to provide an overview of how digital media has changed the way
we communicate and interact with the world.
To start the process, I kept a journal for 2 weeks to see what kind of digital media or digital products I use on a daily basis.
After creating the first version of the concept map, I shared it with my peers to get feedback. Based on their input, I made changes and revisions to make it more clear and organized. This iterative process allowed me to refine and improve this concept map over time.
To create the concept map, I used Procreate, a digital drawing tool, to create a visually appealing and easy-to-follow design. Overall, creating a concept map on the role of digital media in our lives was a rewarding and informative experience. It allowed me to explore and visualize the many ways digital media has an impact on my/our daily lives.
Just looking back at my concept folder I have had a better understanding with what I use on a daily basis in terms of media and also product. There were some products that I didn't think about, like my OV chip card that I also use every day, so that I really enjoyed making this assignment.
The media/products I named are the most important for in my daily life because these have a great influence on everything I do. After keeping track of my media, I have also noticed that sometimes I spend way too much time on social media by just endlessly scrolling.
For this, I have set a limit on my phone set where I spend a maximum of 1 hour on social media. This also makes me more aware with how much time I'm wasting with things that are not at all productive at all.
