Poster Open Up Your Talent

What I did

Open Up Your Talent Photo When creating this design, I was mainly thinking about working with depth and perspective. In the first few iterations of my poster, I wanted to give the puzzle pieces a color, but that became too busy so I just used a white color.

Here I thought it was just too simple and wanted to give it an extra color, and that's also how I came up with the idea for a glass effect. I was able to achieve this by playing with the transparency and also the color. With my final product I was very satisfied. I did not want to fill the poster with too much information so I also included the QR code so that viewers can also go to the HAN website for more information about the event.

I created this design with Illustrator and also worked with the 'blend' effect. It was my first time working with this, so it was a challenge for me. Also to make sure the perspective of the text and the puzzle pieces matched well.

How I did it

This poster was designed to be chosen from for the annual ‘Open Up Your Talent” event of the HAN. Some design principles I used were:

Hierarchy:
I used this by making the "Are you up for a challenge" smaller and the "Open up your Talent" sticking out.

Depth, Perspective, Foreground and Background:
I tried to play with depth and perspective where you can see that the puzzle is viewed from a certain angle and that the edges of the puzzle are are also visible. I also tried to make the text of "Open Up Your Talent" stand out a little higher pop out that it goes beyond the height of the puzzle so that it is visible what is in the foreground and background.

Continuity and filled in gap:
The puzzle pieces are all the same and also have continuity. In the case of the inner pieces, it is aligned in such a way that it appears that puzzles inside are missing.

Contrast:
I also tried to work with contrast where the white text stands out from the pink/purple color.
